From Drug Substance to Engineered Particle
Particle engineering is the process by which raw drug substance is transformed into particles with the size, morphology, and solid-state properties required for clinical performance and formulation compatibility. At Micromacinazione, this transformation is delivered through a range of complementary technologies — including jet milling micronization, mechanical milling, and spray drying — each selected and configured around the specific physicochemical profile of the molecule being processed.
Our process development approach is built on over fifty years of operational experience, supported by an independent R&D laboratory, three fully inspected GMP facilities, and a containment infrastructure that spans from OEB 1 to OEB 4B. Whether the objective is sub-10-micron size reduction for a poorly soluble API, coarser mechanical milling for a heat-sensitive excipient, spray drying for a controlled-release application, or a more specialized processing route, the process is engineered to meet the specification — not the other way around.
